Stumbled upon this place while visiting family in Poulsbo! So excited that we did. We just moved from Hawaii so this felt like home. We got meat Jun and the mochiko chicken. Everything was made to order so it was super fresh. We waited maybe 15 or 20 minutes for our plates. The workers were very nice. It was in the back of a gas station...but I wish they had their own spot! We live all the way in west seattle but will definitely make the drive to eat here again!

Hole-in-the-wall hidden gem right in the shell gas station. Pork adobo & white rice in true Hawaiian 🌺 fashion. 🤙🏻🌊🏝️ Thanks for dinner! Mahalo! 🙏🏻

Ordered up the chicken Katsu. I could not believe the portion size! I have a scientific scale in my office and it came in at 2.6 pounds. Great tasting food, great customer service. I will definitely be back. This was my first time trying Unko’s and it was great!

I absolutely LOVE Unko's Kitchen. The food and service is always amazing. They are inside of a gas station, so there's nowhere to dine in. I would suggest ordering online since they do get pretty swamped. It's not fast food. But it IS the most yummiest food!

Born and raised in Hawaii. Well there are Hawaiian restaurants around they all seem to cater mainland style instead of sticking true to local tastes. Not this place, everything from local moco to poi can be gotten from here. Food takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cook, they don't like taking orders 20 minutes before closing. It's located in a gas station, a Shell station to be specific but when you walk in during the daytime all you smell is their food and it's delicious.

I'm not too adventurous when it comes to food, but the Mochiko chicken sliders were delicious! Whatever sauce they put on those sliders was so good. The slaw on them gave just the right crunch. Who knew that a food spot inside of a gas station could be so good! Great Hawaiian food!

I saw this place on my social media. So I looked them up on Google maps. Just the pictures alone was the deciding factor to visit this food establishment. So with my wife and son, we jumped in the car. We live in the Kent-Covington-WA area. We left around 9, which headed south, traffic isn't too bad. As we got closer, we drove through alot of neighborhoods and apartment complexes. Tucked away slightly hidden, we arrived at our location. Dont let the gas station fool you. We entered the convenience store and to the back, there it was, Unko's. It was difficult to pick, so after 15 minutes of trying to decide. We ordered the garlic chicken, podagee moco loco, smash burger, and musubi machine chicken and red dog. I regretted not ordering enough. So I put in a second order. Baked sushi, meat jun, fried noodles, pork hash, and pokololo pouch for dessert. Order in hand we headed to a park to sit down and eat. I feel up to this point in my life I knew what to expect from hawaiian food. But this, this broke da mouth. Everything was amazing. The garlic chicken ono, the loco moco slightly salty but so good. The mochiko chicken musubi. Wow, the thing that stands out for me personally was the baked sushi. Wow wow, next time im going to order 4 baked sushi. It brought a tear to my eye. It was so worth the drive, we got back home before traffic got congested and ate leftovers the rest of the afternoon with all the other kids. Heart breaking that Unko's Kitchen isn't closer. Absolutely going back, definitely a destination stop. P.S. dear Unko you have ruined me, I will never buy hawaiian food from anywhere else but you.

Former Hawaii resident... This is a solid plate lunch place. It's my go to spot when I'm out on the peninsula. Every bite takes me back home. Not too many places you can find meat jun and theirs is ono.

I grew up in Hawaii and I miss the food all the time. Saw a social media post about this place and drove from Tacoma to try it out. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The Mochiko chicken is amazing. Tastes just like home but less salty lol . They even threw in a few extra pieces on my partners plate so I wouldn’t have to share mine! The Mac salad is different, maybe more peppery, but it was delicious! I was stoked to get that last two pork hash available because that’s what I was looking forward to the most. So so good. Will definitely be back for the saimin, as there is no one is the area who has it. I begged them gently to open a place in Tacoma (please please please!) Reheated the leftovers up the next day and it was still good!

Love a hidden gas station gem! We just finished our mochiko chicken and 2 meat combo place with the Kaluha pork and kalbi (short ribs) and it was fantastic! Absolutely will be back! We didn't receive the furikake fries that were supposed to come with the mochiko chicken which was disappointing cause I reallllly wanted to try them BUT that didn't take away from how great the other food was. Highly recommend if you get a Hawaiian food craving!
